Hydrating Avocado Yoghurt Face Mask

by

January is already a crappy month and then some keen-o came up with the idea of dry January, making it all the bit worse. So now that we’re in Feb, thankfully, out of the dreary and dry first month of the year, we’ve been reunited with our friend vino. And as I nurse a large glass while I write this, I can’t help but notice the natural morning glow of January has dissipated somewhat. Alcohol, admittedly, isn’t great for your skin but as red wine is good for your heart, and soul, we’re committing to balancing this out with some super easy morning face masks to give you back your glow. All of these ingredients can be found in your supermarket and hopefully you’ve stuck to your resolution of a green smoothie a day, so you should find it in your kitchen drawer too!

Avocado, Honey & Yogurt

These hydrating and nourishing ingredients will renew your dewy glow, gently exfoliating thanks to the yogurt, wonderfully moisturising thanks to the avocado, and brightening thanks to the vitamin C packed avocado. Mash in the morning and smother as you wait for the kettle to boil and you’ll be ready to rumble in no time.

  • Quarter avocado
  • Tablespoon honey
  • Tablespoon yogurt

Mash all ingredients together to form a paste and then apply, leaving for 10 minutes before rinsing.

Papaya, Lemon & Oats

This is a great brightening mask as the enzymes in papaya gently exfoliate, sweeping away dead skin cells revealing fresh new skin underneath. Oats are incredibly anti-inflammatory, which is great for any patches of redness or irritation. Slept in your makeup? It’s ok, it’s ok. The vitamin C rich lemon will sort that right out.

  • Quarter papaya
  • Squeeze lemon
  • Tablespoon oats

Mash the papaya and stir in the other ingredients, creating a paste. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

Kiwi, Orange and Almond Oil

Kiwis are full of alpha hydroxy acids, which will effortlessly brighten skin, and by adding antioxidant-rich orange juice and skin-soothing almond oil, you’ve got a glow-getter face mask your skin will love.

  • Half kiwi
  • Tablespoon orange juice
  • Tablespoon almond oil

Mash the kiwi, add the juice and oil to form a paste. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

You’re. So. Welcome.
