We can’t get enough of kefir. It’s packed with lactic acid, a natural skin alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that will gently buff away dead skin cells and minimise fine lines and wrinkles. The best part? It’s also loaded with amazing probiotics: some say kefir contains up to 35 different strains of live bacteria! These little guys help to nourish, nurture and balance easily irritable skin, including skin prone to eczema, acne and psoriasis.

If you’re vegan, or prefer not using yoghurt, then go ahead and throw in some oat milk instead – it’s just as great for sensitive skin and is extremely hydrating too.
- 10g tbsp kefir yoghurt
- 10g tbsp coconut oil
- 30g pink Himalayan salt
Melt the coconut oil in a bain-marie, then let cool for a minute or two. Be careful not to let it set! Add in the kefir yoghurt followed by the pink salt, and mix well into a paste. Wash off normally.
Want to use this on your face? Switch the pink salt with some ground almonds or jojoba beads for a gentler, face-friendly scrub.
