About two weeks ago I received a package of the latest Romilly Wilde launches: the eye believe serum and night duty face cream. They’re clearly a luxury clean skincare brand, considering the £125 and £75 price tags, but despite this I remained sceptical and wasn’t expecting much of a change to my skin as I suffer from acne.
Read on to find out what I thought!
Eye Believe Serum
This stuff is actual magic! I went a couple of days without under eye cream (uni kid broke problems) so my eyes were suffering from sleep deprivation and discolouration. Not to mention I wear foundation everyday so the cute smile lines around my eyes were beginning to look like crow’s feet – it was really quite awful!
The label says it’s a serum but it’s actually a light cream that, when applied in the under eye, dissolves effortlessly into your skin. I started using this and within a couple of days the discolouration on my under eyes was virtually gone. I sense witchcraft here guys – nothing I’ve ever tried has worked this well.
It retails at £75 (yes I know, we can cry together) but if you have the sleep-deprived under eyes and the funds then it’s definitely worth the splurge. I’m telling you, you will see a difference within a couple of days. It’s amazing.
Night Duty Face Cream
I’m not going to lie: I was scared to test out a new night cream, because I literally have the worst luck with them. They’re either too thick, not moisturising enough or they make my face tingly (and sometimes even burn) when my acne is acting up. Also, I recently changed my diet so my skin is going through a detox, and as expected it’s causing an absolute riot. Nevertheless, in the name of beauty (and the £125 price tag) I march on.
The cream is a bright yellow colour, with an earthy smell that’s not overwhelming and fades quickly. The instructions says to apply a full pump, but I’m currently using half a pump and it’s enough to apply to my face and neck! The texture is relatively thick, but it’s fast-absorbing and doesn’t sit on the skin for too long; my fears of clogging pores are thus eradicated.
My pimples are quite painful at the moment, but this cream is so refreshing it didn’t irritate my skin at all. After a couple of days of using it, I noticed my skin had the most beautiful glow – that natural from within glow. Even in the sides of my chin where I’m breaking out loads, I feel like my skin is glowing even under the acne. Sounds weird, but stay with me on this. Although this is supposed to be a collagen cream, it somehow works magic with soothing my active acne: I notice that with every day that passes they get less red and less irritated.
God, this shit is gold! I told myself. I highly, highly recommend it, my skin looks healthy and glowy without makeup and it makes me feel so pretty. Honestly, there hasn’t been another night cream I’ve tried that ever made a noticeable difference in my skin, this is truly a treasure.
One of the best high-end natural skin care brands out there. If you can afford it, go for it! It’s worth every penny. If it made my acne-prone, sensitive, dehydrated skin glow then yours will too. I’ll leave it at that.
